I own the documentary Why We Fight which is built around President Dwight D. Eisenhower's farewell address of 1961. In it, he gave a warning: guard against the military industrial complex. Our nation has built the strongest military in the history of humanity, and now the USA spends more money on the military than all other nations, combined. Government spends more on our military than anything else. Our infrastructure, health care, education, and standard of living have suffered as a result. In the midst of the biggest financial crisis of our generation, can we really afford to continue on this path? Can you imagine what our country, and the world, would be like? Update: I've got the "It's a Wonderful Life" DVD. "Into The Wild" DVD was purchased and viewed, was a good true-story, and gives me a lot to think about as I plan my own adventure. There's still a lot for me to do.I'm feeling like George Bailey did in the film, over most of this past year, and this week has been a particularly rough one. I feel like giving up on everyone, as they have given up on me. I'm not jumping off a bridge or anything, but I'll probably end up a hermit in the woods of Canada before long, and all the better for everyone else. This is the last entry that you'll see, and I won't be bothering anyone in the future, so you can safely erase my memory now. Good bye, and good luck! Peace.
