"...Life is like a penis. When it's hard you get screwed. When it's soft you can't beat it." - The final line of dialog in the movie. (No, I did not watch it, only TANG!)

I have a problem with the standard MMO game, so I thought I would share it with you. I am mostly thinking of WoW, the most popular game. I will share the way I would prefer things changed. This does not really apply to Free Realms, or Guild Wars, so let me know if you want to meet up on there.

If I'm playing an online multi-player game, I want to play with my friends. This does not work with the current setup for many reasons. Firstly, your characters are stuck on specific servers. Second, even if you are on the same server, if you want to really play together, you must be on the same faction, and you should be around the same level, and it may even be advisable to be the same race and class, to have similar quests. This is not a common thing, and if you force it, it doesn't always work, as you start to separate over time.

As far as the meeting random people, again, you should get a close match with people for them to join you, and the world is so large, you likely will be playing solo. I don't want to pay a monthly fee for a solo experience. If you are the type of person who likes to power game, grinding and farming constantly, and tries to get to the top, then these games could be for you. I got bored with the repetitive, lonely, and long missions. Frustration set in. I wouldn't say it was a waste, but it would have been foolish to continue.

As I said, Free Realms fixes a lot of these issues. You can choose your server. There's no monthly fee. You can instantly change jobs. It's not a game that makes you feel penalized for not being at some high level. It's just a fun and casual game. It may be geared to a younger audience, but I appreciate a lot of what it does right. Then again, I don't know anyone who plays, and everyone seems to play WoW...

Now that I have the Sims 3, I was thinking about adding friends into the game. This would be easy to do if my friends also have the game, and I could find their creations when we link up at the community website. Unfortunately, I think not many people have the game, or will see this entry. I may have to do some inquiries, or just create them myself.

I may get in touch with you to help me create you as a Sim!

I am also going to get the Spore expansion soon, so in anticipation of playing more Spore, I'd like to expand my subscriptions there, too. Since Spore has been around longer, and has more stuff to create, I would put a higher priority toward finding friends there. Please, share any helpful information with me.

Late Night with Jimmy Fallon - Video Blog - Kudo Tsunoda Demos Project Natal

Developers are getting this now, so I hope that many old and new games will have options to use this in addition to, and in place of, regular controls. I know there will be games exclusively for Natal, but I hope this will be supported by many more games. They already have integration with the Xbox 360 dashboard. The great thing is how it can be used while you hold a controller, or even other props! The possibilities, they are immense.

Project Natal

Video and voice recognition have been tried before with games, with moderate success. I am hopeful that this device will be of high enough quality, and fully integrated, to deliver the type of accurate experience I've hoped for. It certainly could give the motion controllers a run for their money. It seems like Microsoft is putting a lot of emphasis on this project, which is what's needed from a console maker to make it successful, and not just filling a small niche. The Wii has opened up gaming to more people, but this could bring it to everyone, and really change how we think about gaming in the future. Until it actually comes out, we'll have to play the waiting game!

OnLive revealed at the GDC (Game Developers Conference) after 7 years in development.

I don't know if this will replace my love for physical media, but it is certainly worth paying attention to... if the price is right.

I'm very excited about this, and it might be time to stop buying some new games until the end of the year, to see what they have to offer.
