Now that I have the Sims 3, I was thinking about adding friends into the game. This would be easy to do if my friends also have the game, and I could find their creations when we link up at the community website. Unfortunately, I think not many people have the game, or will see this entry. I may have to do some inquiries, or just create them myself.

I may get in touch with you to help me create you as a Sim!

I am also going to get the Spore expansion soon, so in anticipation of playing more Spore, I'd like to expand my subscriptions there, too. Since Spore has been around longer, and has more stuff to create, I would put a higher priority toward finding friends there. Please, share any helpful information with me.

My refurbished 80GB iPod lasted about 2 years, but I think it's finally had a fatal error. Not long after I got it, my iPod froze up, at a time when everything was falling apart. That was solved by plugging some different cables in the bottom at the "Genius" bar at the Apple Store. I didn't have time to wait over an hour to see someone Thursday, but I did talk to some people, and tried some connectors at the store. The problem is that my headphone jack is silent, and it also won't play sounds through the bottom port, using docking devices. The only way to play music is to sync it to a computer, which means it's just a glorified USB hard drive.

I copied my items off the iPod (which required a freeware program called iDump, because iTunes doesn't allow it) and then reset the iPod, but when I reloaded my music, it still has the same problem. I may return to get an actual appointment at the Apple store, but since there's no warranty, I may be told that they can't fix it (they don't repair hardware) and will replace it with a similar model iPod, for something around one hundred fifty dollars. This is probably a better deal then I could get if I got a new music player, but I am very worried that it will fail, again. It is the only Apple product I own, and I am not that pleased with it, even when it works.

This is a warning to those who don't understand: the longer we wait for Spore, the better prepared we will be for the Apocalypse.

I believe Spore could be one of the greatest games ever made, and I have a pre-order well in advance, but the actual release date is not bothering me. I must use all the time I have to prepare for Spore's coming. Instead of arguing about when it will be released, you should prepare, too.

There are many games I own that are good, quality games, and I've barely had time to play them, let alone complete them. They will be a distant memory when Spore is released. Think of when you first got into SimCity, or the Sims, and how long you spent playing them. It will be worse.

Sleep will be lost, starvation will take it's toll, work will grind to a halt, people will be late and call in sick, girlfriends and boyfriends will leave us... and as for hygiene and bodily functions? I have been practicing for a long time, so I am well prepared for the torture that awaits us all.

Enjoy life, now! Play your other games while you can! When Spore is released, the world will change, and things will be much different. So, my question to you is; are you ready? What have you been doing to prepare? Complaining about the release date could get you killed...

My ATI video card is glitching out. After my hard drive, this is rather tiresome. I'm going to get a refund of most of my money, and get a less expensive card from the other chip manufacturer, Nvidia. No more fancy PC games until I get it, but at least I still have the laptop. Now I just have to figure out which card to get, based on how much I want to spend. I am sure it will be less than last time. Don't you love the quality of consumer technology?

Noob Intelligence (NoobI) - a Steam Group.

Now that Team Fortress 2 (The Orange Box) is out, and I've finally got it, I've started a group for my friends to join. It should be a lot of fun to let everyone know that I'm a proud NoobI! Join me, and be a part of a team, that stands for... something!

My new computer is assembled and seems to be working fine. There was some problems along the way, and it was harder than I anticipated, but I survived. I will have more time to test things out after work. Team Fortress 2, I mean, The Orange Box has been shipped, but I don't know when I'm going to get it in the mail. I still may order another 1GB of RAM and some input devices, like a new keyboard, mouse, game controller...

It only took one day, and now I've ordered parts to build a new PC. The total cost is around $1,750. I'll have to send in those rebates to get some of it back. The cost wasn't as big a deal, as getting a good deal for my money. I like everything I got, and I'm sure I'll pick up a few things more, including a wireless mouse and keyboard.

This is the base system so far:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz LGA 775 Processor Model BX80562Q6600 - $277.99

The Orange Box is out today, and it's getting great reviews. I planned to get a Xbox 360 or a computer, eventually, but now I really want to play this game, especially Team Fortress 2. Unfortunately, the options for expansion that are available after I get the Orange box are limited on the console.

The Xbox 360 will cost less, but also offers much less, other than a few exclusive games. The PC is more expensive up front, but the games are cheaper, no charge for online, and it's way more flexible. I don't have an HDTV, so I might end up using a computer screen either way.

Of course, Spore is coming out next year, I hope...

So, do I give in to the easy to buy option of getting a Xbox 360, even though it is less useful? I had a Wii, and barely played that. My other consoles and games pretty much collect dust. The computer I'd use all the time. I also don't think I'll be transporting system around, so portability is null.

I convinced myself; I should get a PC. Now it's a matter of when, how much, and from where. Do I want Vista or XP? Apple? Just kidding! I'll try to enjoy my other consoles, in the mean time, and maybe I'll never have to buy another one. It could happen...
