Finally split out Facebook into personal and professional accounts. Hopefully it will allow me to be a little more frank over there than I have been. Not that Facebook is the best venue for discourse, but there are people on there I like to communicate with that don't have blogs. Family members, old classmates, etc.

Many conservatives complain that the health care bills are too big. Wait, they mean too long in written words? In there ongoing quest for irrelevancy, the Republican Party is trying it's best to be the party to oppose anything the Democratic Party does. They are also trying to redefine themselves as more conservative, which should lose them even more moderates. Instead of focusing on solutions to problems, they just want to make a spectacle and stop any progress. If you saw Unruly Republicans Disrupt Health Care Debate you'd see what I mean; objections for objections sake. Here's some examples from SPIN METER: 'War and Peace' in 209 pages? from AP.

Yesterday my special holiday-scented Man's Face Stuff Moustache Wax came in the mail so I'm wearing it today. My moustache is in the holiday spirit! It smells like cloves and cinnamon.

Tonight is going to be busy. I have some cleaning to do and a lot of comics to draw to cover my ass until the weekend. I'm leaving tomorrow night to go do family stuff and disappearing FOREVER. My brother is going to be visiting so I will be doing stuff with him too.

So that's all good, but I kind of have the blues today. I am drinking cream soda though and tomorrow is the last day of the work week. So rah rah rah.

This year I am going to celebrate the day after Thanksgiving as Tramplesgiving where we stay in and make and eat pancakes to honor those who have fallen in the Black Friday stampedes.

Fridays are a good day. They're a half-day for me. I come in, do four hours work, and then get the rest of the day to do whatevz. Today whatevz is checking in on a kitty cat, getting a haircut, and playing some Dragon Age. The Urn of Andraste isn't going to find itself!

Might try going for a hike or something this weekend. Get out there into that great wide world. Maybe go apple-picking or something. Shit I don't know.

The sickness seems to be mostly gone apart from a runny nose and some soreness around my kidneys. I don't have enough trust in myself for self-diagnosis but I sort of wonder if I hadn't been dealing with our buddy the swine flu. Sick for four to five days? That's pretty unusual for me. Of course I guess the seasonal flu this year is kicking some ass too.

I think I'm going to have to declare the whole "Interesting Things" project defunct. Not because I found a job, but because I'm just not following through on it right now. Perhaps I'll Do a Version Two/II/2.0/Dos/Redux sometime, but for now I've got to throw in the cards. Not on photography, far from it, but the "take one a day" goal I was working towards was something I was not accomplishing. Lately, my heads been so full of shit it's dribbling out of my ears. I think this project has been one of a few casualties resulting from that issue, along with my social life and my ability to get off my goddamn posterior.

I'm really glad I started it though. I've learned so much about my camera, about so many of the basics and a few of the tricks. I've also learned there's so much more for me to try and begin to grasp at. I HAVE NOT learned any post, and thank God for that. Shooting so much without going "Oh I'll fix it in photoshop" forced me to be better.

I've got a few other ideas floating around in my head, one I may start as soon as tonight, but I figured I'd cut this one off before I became to embittered about not riding it through until the original goal.

So, a 10 year old got tased for, essentially, throwing a tantrum. I'm pretty open about my opinion that tasers are being used as torture instruments by cops, and this is just more evidence in that pile, but here's my question because I was not aware of this at all:

Parents can call the cops over non-criminal disputes with their kids? I mean, if a kid is stealing or is dangerously violent or whatever, that's one thing. I'm really skeptical about how dangerous a kicking 10-year-old is, though, and the call came because the child refused to take a shower. Parents can do that?
